And it's not as if it will be used to benefit the people, fund healthcare, provide a social safety net. It will go into the pocket of PoTUS and fund tax cuts for those that have enough for ten life times.

$750m "fine" with no laws broken, investigation, charges brought or guilty verdict. That is extortion. How can any company or individual operate with the state of uncertainty comes from having a government that can just take what you have built up.

As I once heard said about Ulster Unionists they'd argue with their own fingernails.

And the drugs might be coming out of Venezuela but it's Americans buying them. Sort that out you incompetent bastard.

But, but, but he promised faithfully to not start a war....what could possibly lead him to change his mind?

When will the US learn? They rarely (never?) win a war they have started. Their power comes from carrots, not sticks.

They will get their arses handed to them.

Are they asking if there is any mechanism to make sure asylum seekers are accommodated close to or in easy reach of health providers? Even a local one leg there and back bus trip would cost more than half an asylum seeker's daily stipend.

It all comes down to the failed business case for HS2 which should have been about taking fast trains off the current lines to double or triple non-expresses serving local town to town travel and freight rather than saving inter-city business people a few minutes.

Make and if they don't take it slice it and fry in in bacon fat to add to your boxing day breakfast.

As few as four?

The name selection vote later is not to pick a name for the main party, but to pick which faction you want to be in.

Got into the article - he sounds like a cock.

Next time I go to the doctor I must remember to get their uncle's number so I can get him to critique my care.

In fact German, draft dodging, brothel keeper. So behaviour can pass down!
November 28, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Ha! You are only a Plastic Paddy if you have your shirtless first fights *by* a bar dumpster. Real Paddies fight in them. 😉

How about German brothel keepers - can they be assimilated to the point maybe their grandchildren can be president?

But then I remember the vast majority of voters will just read "Cash ISA allowance slashed" and think that that applies to the accumulated balance or affects their £50 pcm so they think they are going to lose something.
November 27, 2025 at 11:18 PM
I don't get why? You can get better returns outside the cash ISA even taking the tax into account unless you have a very large sum saved. And salting away over a grand a month is a pipe dream for most. This makes no difference to the vast majority of voters.

It's the Times and they've corrected it now. Can't get the staff!

In the people leaving there will be some that are at a point of their lives where big decisions commiting them to the UK for another 10, 20 years need to be made. "Shall (can) I buy a house, start a family, take a new job?" so it reflects uncertainty about their long term future for the UK.

I was joking, imagining the diatribe with which the Mail and Telegraph greet any threat to the legacies of the rich.
November 27, 2025 at 1:48 PM
A death tax you say? Oh the horror! Snatching £multimillion legacies from under the noses of poor money grubbing children. How could you be so cruel?
