$750m "fine" with no laws broken, investigation, charges brought or guilty verdict. That is extortion. How can any company or individual operate with the state of uncertainty comes from having a government that can just take what you have built up.

Are they asking if there is any mechanism to make sure asylum seekers are accommodated close to or in easy reach of health providers? Even a local one leg there and back bus trip would cost more than half an asylum seeker's daily stipend.

It all comes down to the failed business case for HS2 which should have been about taking fast trains off the current lines to double or triple non-expresses serving local town to town travel and freight rather than saving inter-city business people a few minutes.

I don't get why? You can get better returns outside the cash ISA even taking the tax into account unless you have a very large sum saved. And salting away over a grand a month is a pipe dream for most. This makes no difference to the vast majority of voters.

In the people leaving there will be some that are at a point of their lives where big decisions commiting them to the UK for another 10, 20 years need to be made. "Shall (can) I buy a house, start a family, take a new job?" so it reflects uncertainty about their long term future for the UK.
