Whole album is so sensual. 😄 Great track.

The music, but the album I have contains long versions of New Life & Just Can't Get Enough, and doesn't contain "I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead". Actually, I just created a playlist of the U.S. track listing. 😂 Here that is: tidal.com/playlist/4d2...

054. Depeche Mode - Speak & Spell

Maybe the first album I ever got that had a plastic inner sleeve instead of paper. Bought this in probably 82 when it was out, forgot about it after a bit, & then "rediscovered" it a few years later when I was in 9th grade. 😂 I was cool & didn't even know it! 😄
Alt text by me & Claude large language model: "A black Audio-Technica turntable with a clear dust cover sits beneath a black vinyl record with a yellow Sire Records label. Behind the turntable is Depeche Mode's 'Speak & Spell' album cover featuring a dramatic illustration of a large swan inside clear plastic against a vivid orange-red background, perched on a nest of white twigs. The album title and band name appear in small text at the top of the cover beneath pips shaped like a crown. There is a clear sticker on the album cover that reads "Contains Long Versions of 'JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH' and 'NEW LIFE' SRK 3642." The turntable sits on a white surface against a light blue wall."

Qobuz works well. So does Deezer, Tidal, YT Music, and Apple. They all suck to various degrees but there is life beyond Spotify. Most of these have free trials!

Spotify is now running ICE recruitment advertisements.

053. John Denver - Back Home Again

This is really good. I know the hits here, but the rest of it is really good. A pleasant listen.
Alt text by me & Claude large language model: "A black Audio-Technica turntable with a clear dust cover playing a black vinyl record with an orange label. Behind the turntable is John Denver's 'Back Home Again' album cover featuring a warm beige background with the artist's name and album title in decorative brown lettering at the top. 😅Holy shit, I feel WAY better about my chances now. 😄 Thanks for letting me know!

The Big Lizard repress looks awesome! I'm not feeling great about my chances of getting one, but I'll try! 😂 I was like "Cool!" and then I saw only 500 and then recalibrated my expectations. 😄

052. The Dead Milkmen - Bucky Fellini

Cool canary yellow #vinyl for this reissue. Great collection of songs, from their reinterpretation of the old '70s song "Watching Scotty Grow" to the sweet rolling guitars on "Surfin' Cow" and the goth rebuke "You'll Dance to Anything." 😄
Alt text generated by Claude Large Language Model from the photograph: "A black Audio-Technica turntable with a clear dust cover playing a bright yellow vinyl record. Behind the turntable is The Dead Milkmen's 'Bucky Fellini' album cover featuring a collage-style design on a cream background with the band name in orange bubble letters at the top. The artwork includes various hand-drawn elements like a sun, castle, waves, film strip motifs, and geometric shapes in yellow, orange, red, and blue. The turntable sits on a white surface against a light-colored wall."

You can pry Jupiter Crash from my cold, dead hands, but I think you might be right about this.

Country fans are upset with Zach Bryan after he criticized ICE in a song.

But don't let it be known that Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash all despised fascism and leaned heavily to the left.

That’s fair, more a collection of songs than an album. Pornography is an *album*. 😄

See and I love 3IB as well. 😄 and there’s a case to be made for Wild Mood Swings (as @svenllama.bsky.social would agree, I think.)

Such a great band.

I think for me Kiss Me3 edges Disintegration. But yeah, pileup at #3. 😄

051. The Cure - Songs of a Lost World

Two #vinyl slabs, and I do means slabs. 180g bio vinyl, half-speed mastered at Abbey Road, as is all the rage lately. 😄

Hard to believe this album hasn't even been out a year yet, it feels as familiar as the other Cure albums we all love.

Behind the turntable is The Cure's 'Songs from a Lost World' album cover featuring a stark, minimalist design with a black-and-white photograph of Bagatelle, a 1975 sculpture by Slovenian artist Janez Pirnat, and the text 'theCURE' in the upper right corner. Album cover design by Andy Vella. The turntable sits on a white surface against a light purple wall."

I do love me a picture disc. 😄 Especially these, Robert always has a hand in these so you know it's quality. Bummed that my copy has some kind of defect at the beginning of The Baby Screams so that it skips, but…¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whatcha gonna do? Rest of it plays fine. ☺️

050. The Cure - Pictures of You

Always loved this 12" single for the dub beats. Not sure what compelled me to buy it on #vinyl back in 1990 or whenever, but…I've been carrying it around with me since. 😄 B-sides are Last Dance and Fascination Street live at Wembley, July '89.

Behind the turntable is the album cover featuring a white background with the title 'the cure pictures of you' in a black lowercase script-style typeface at the top, and a black-and-white photograph below showing a person with dark curly hair viewed from behind in what appears to be an interior space. The turntable sits on a white surface against a light purple wall."
