I know next to nothing about Supergirl as a character, but this gut-punch of a post has made me 20 times more excited for the movie, and I was already so excited!
James clearly gets Supergirl. Supergirl is one of the most tragic figures in comics. Clark only remembers Earth. Kara watched everyone she loved die, but was spared so she could raise baby Clark. But time dilation meant he was an adult by the time she arrived. She has pain without purpose.
