Still plying his trade 30 years on. The bridge has been altered, losing his original spot, but he reckons with the international footfall past his new pitch he must be one of the most globally disseminated poets working today. Joseph Marinus. A delightful point of continuity to discover.

When I was a teenager out and about in central London there used to be a man selling poems in the middle of Hungerford Bridge. They were in coloured envelopes, laid out on a blanket. Always bought some, seemed too magical not to. Anyway, a few days ago I came across him by Tate Modern (1/2)
