(Argonaut are also the most likely source of signed copies in the UK, if that makes a difference. I can't promise anything but I know how to evade the staff and get to the graphic novels shelf with a pen before anyone can stop me)

Basically, if you haven't yet bought a copy of THE RESTAURANT AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, or want to get it for a friend/relative/child/enemy for Christmas, it would be really nice if you purchased it from Argonaut. They're good people having a bad week.

If you've heard about the outrageous decision from Waterstones to open a new branch 65m away from Leith's beloved independent bookshop, Argonaut Books, you should perhaps be aware that Argonaut stock my book and do online sales:

Finally fixed the end of my book to the point where it all works! And now I've done that, the beginning no longer matches up and doesn't work at all...

I am disappointed in myself that it's taken me so long to get round to watching THE THIN MAN. that's an instant favourite right there. Two charming people drink too many cocktails, make out, crack terrible jokes at each other, and solve crimes? Honestly a perfect movie.

Is the end of this year the time when I finally start a newsletter to update people on what I'm up to in a vaguely coherent way? Maybe. Maybe I should do that.

As we come to the end of 2025 and I start setting things up for 2026, now would be a great time for an email if you've been wondering about working together! I'd particularly love to get a miniseries on the schedule (either original or IP work!)

Hi #PortfolioDay !
I'm Ollie, and I write comics. I wrote the graphic novel OFF MENU (aka THE RESTAURANT AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD). I've written for IP including Red Sonja and 2000AD, and award-winning projects like YOUNG MEN IN LOVE.

my schedule is open and I'd love to work with more editors!

I think, maybe, just maybe, this novel might be only one more pass away from being a thing I might be able to let someone else read without apologising for it. Maybe.

Turns out Lorde's approach to costume changes is very relatable: she turned up to tonight's show in jeans and a t shirt, did a few songs, took her trousers off, did a few more songs in her pants (mostly lying on the floor), then put her trousers back on and did the rest of the show.
