Meanwhile: I'm expecting a announcement within six to eight months concerning NSW Trainlink axing the Sydney-Brisbane and Casino-Sydney (which link into coaches from Brisbane) overnight sleeper train service.

Journos like @mattdennien.bsky.social: The NSW Govt documents are a good read.

Openly expecting "Infinity Planet" to end up like another failed idea of the sort that was pitched to Queensland: The Multi Function Polis.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was being pitched by the same people who wanted Sydney's Wonderland back a decade ago, just with another corporate front.

Of course there will never be a update to the appointment process for govt board roles.

Both majors just want to keep the status quo going for as long as possible.

A Olympics referendum is our best shot for a reset in Queensland political life.

Kenmore outages alone are now 1/5th of remaining power outages from Sunday.

Politicians want to talk about radar...

Kenmore residents want to talk about the response since.

Currently in Southeast Queensland there are 5,244 customers without power, across 34 suburbs. KENMORE is the most impacted suburb with 914 customers affected.
October 28, 2025 at 3:23 AM
I'd be safe to say, if you are one of the 1,232 affected in Kenmore near 30hrs post-event on Sunday: I'd be looking at pushing Energex to pay for any spoiled food in fridges/freezers.

Hell: open disaster funding to allow these people to restock once power is back and fridge contents disposed.
Currently in Southeast Queensland there are 13,353 customers without power, across 80 suburbs. KENMORE is the most impacted suburb with 1,232 customers affected.
October 27, 2025 at 2:04 PM
I also cannot see the Kenmore power outage number shifting tonight.

From what I have heard from weather forums and the like (houses with trees through roofs, lots of roads closed/powerlines down): dawn tomorrow morning will be a significant revelation in that suburb to what damage has occured.
October 26, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Wouldn't be surprised if some of the issues in Brisbane's western suburbs involve trees that were weakened due to TC Alfred earlier this year.

People will want power back quickly in these areas: tomorrow's forecast top (37-38c) will somehow add a aroma, the longer the power stays off.

#bnestorm
Currently in Southeast Queensland there are 71,166 customers without power, across 183 suburbs. KENMORE is the most impacted suburb with 4,054 customers affected.
October 26, 2025 at 11:52 AM
I'm hearing about a significant amount of trees down in the Sherwood area, after the storm went through a hour ago.

A SEQ council falls for cyber fraud.

If you cannot trust a SEQ council to tell the difference between AI and real people (only to cost them $2m in the process), then why the hell are we hosting the Olympics?

The bigger question: how many Murdoch-supplied drinks did it take on Sunday night to get on this “unity ticket”?

News Corp Australia owns 70% of the Broncos, and has a partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee.

A conflict of interest, three QLD Premiers have ignored for six years.
