LAWSUIT UPDATE RE: NATIONAL GUARD IN PORTLAND: The Ninth Circuit just granted an administrative stay preserving the status quo: the Oregon National Guard remains federalized but the president cannot deploy them.

Late tonight, a federal judge issued a sweeping new order prohibiting the president from deploying any National Guard forces—from any state or DC—to Oregon.

The president cannot keep playing whack-a-mole with different states’ Guard units to get around court orders and the rule of law.

harassing people outside of courtrooms. They wouldn’t be stripping people of their health care or making it more difficult for people to get basic necessities like food. But that is exactly what they are doing.
