A good escape room is not single use only, it can be reconfigured so all of its parts can be used in different combinations.

A good escape room has a good five or six sessions in it.

That you're using the same key doesn't mean you find it in the same place, even if you open the same box.

if you do the replacement yourself, keep in mind a major cost saving is the quality of the plastic. we unfortunately live in an era of plastic carts with pieces which are quite fragile.

I think you could actually do this replacement yourself provided you ensure the part is properly matched, given this is very entry-level and has minimal tool use. There's probably a youtube video that can tell you how to do it.

P&L, you're looking at <$350, and ideally <$250ish depending but it super depends on how busy the garage is

its a spot-job that's easy access but part-stock is the big factor

a fairly common mod is a total bypass, sometimes called a resonator delete, but idk how that affects the engine mean time to failure or overall driving of a civic, since sometimes resonators also help with fuel efficiency by ensuring the combustion chamber's shockwaves are the right shape

I don't super recommend an improvised fix, but I know money is money and this is a piece of plastic designed to lift a pipe up out of the water-line if you drive thru thick water, and to catch all the noise of the engine in a box

if where you drive is totally dry, you can bypass the resonator with an appropriately thick piece of hose and two hose-clamps, with a dampening washer since its job is to dampen the incoming shockwaves to the engine to reduce noise while lifting the pass thru so that you don't risk taking water in

if the end-connector piece is intact, you should in theory get away with a slice of plastic hosing of proper diameter, electrical tape and a hose-clamp, depending on the state of the end-piece as a short-term fix?

can you get photos of the hose connectors and mounts?
