Jointers running again 🙌

Not sure what blew the old capacitor, but put a new one in, confirmed for a fifth time my wiring was correct, and it started right up

Confused, but happy it's running on 220 now 🙌

I think I had a brain blast for making content and marketing for myself going forward. Gonna workshop it, get some video ideas down, but I think this is the first solid idea Ive had

Gotta get my jointer fixed this week, finish painting the table saw and get that reassembled, then its go time

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

So after riding the high of finally getting my 1964 Delta motor running again, I thought I should swap my jointer motor over to 220v as well since I have a dedicated circuit now

Confirmed all the wires were correct in the manual...turned it on... bad buzz, pop, white smoke

Hey hey! There are some tall pillars visible now in Maine that could be seen from states further south. Take a look north if you are in upper New England! The night is young, but it's great to see the aurora out already.

Substorm starting! Head outside and look north to see aurora. Central U.S. is in play. Use a smartphone and take a test shot if you can't see anything with your eyes. Good luck!

Clouds where I'm at, but are still strong enough to glow over the street lights. Northern lower peninsula of Michigan here. If you're in that general region +/- north/south head outside and look North!

You may need a phone/camera to see color, otherwise you're looking for white/grey glow

Luckily I didn't get hurt, no product got damaged, but the place I work for rents this space so I'm a little worried about any potential fallout from this.

That said, this doors been a known problem since before I started so 🤷

I'm having the worst day of work ever. This garage door doesn't stay up by itself, and the prop kicked out while I was trying to back out with a loaded fork lift. Broke the door 😑
