Lorewise, I man an observational post in the Ethereal Plane to keep the anomalies from the Material Plane but I got lonely and stole some guy's equipment so I could reach humans all around their plane. So I guess I am now technically an anomaly.

I never got long nails so no idea. The few times I've had my nails done I got so uncomfortable I peeled the polish off the next day.

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

Awesome! Magic is always an interesting thing to consider when it comes to more modern type mysteries. As I love necromancy in fiction, I'd probably focus on it should I ever make the jump from scifi to fantasy.
