Plenty of Cubs prospect content. Too much, really.

Starting a thread for every single prospect that appears in a 2025 MLB Spring Training game. I’ll be answering the question:

“What does this season have in store for this guy?”

Plenty of prospects in the first game, so let’s dig in ⬇️
An absolute honor to be included on this list

One of the many reasons why @cespedesbbq.bsky.social is the best.

I know what they say about when you assume, but it’s pretty fair to assume the Yankees make a profit, Mr. Steinbrenner

The Rule 5 Draft is next Wednesday. If you’re still confused as to why the draft exists and how it works…

1. I don’t blame you
2. Here’s a primer

Friendly reminder that Jordan Wicks was REALLY good in Triple-A this year
December 2, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Moises Ballesteros got back to his roots of showcasing his amazing hand-eye coordination but also incorporated some serious pop this year. Sacrificed some pull-side juice along the way but using the whole field has always been his game.

A reminder that Owen Caissie was WAY better in 2025 than he was in 2024. Continued to hit the ball hard OFTEN while drastically improving things that were lagging behind.

Dating back to 2014, the Cubs have produced just 6.0 WAR from internationally-signed pitchers.

We need to have a conversation about the Chicago Cubs and their International Free Agent ventures — specifically their inability to identify and develop pitchers in that market. outofthevines.wordpress.com/2025/11/29/t...

Damon Minor is the new hitting coach for Triple-A Iowa, as @sahadevsharma.bsky.social mentioned on North Side Territory.

Minor was an assistant hitting coach for the San Francisco Giants last year after spending several years as their Triple-A hitting coach. He’ll replace Rick Strickland.

Thankful for everyone who tunes into the podcast, whether it’s each episode or just the ones that sound good to you, on YouTube or other platforms, since the start or very recently began, and whether you chat prospects on social media or are super lowkey.

Go Cubs!

On how a potential work stoppage in 2027 might (not) impact minor league baseball
Separate CBAs. 40-man roster players covered by MLB CBA but MiLB players are under a separate CBA between MiLB players and MLB owners. No reason it should affect them.

Standard disclaimer. I am not a lawyer.

@jjcoop36.bsky.social hey JJ, I know past work stoppages in Major League Baseball haven’t impacted minor league baseball, but with the new changes to minor league players and the MLBPA, would that still be the case in 2027?
November 26, 2025 at 4:07 AM
Peek behind the curtain: if you listened on podcast, you’ll hear WAY fewer yeah’s and okay’s from me as Hayden is talking because I edited them out. I was dropping them every 5 seconds (and they are still there on YouTube) because I was so intrigued with everything he was saying.
This might be the best interview yet.

It’s possible that Hayden Cantrelle is the most interesting guy in the entire Cubs farm system. I was lucky enough to have him on the show ⬇️

This is a really good point and something that I think gets severely overlooked. The broadcasters are living and breathing every pitch and their write-ups are amazing.
I would add that MLB Pipeline often has detailed write-ups from the previous day’s game for each affiliate + the box score. Many times the game summaries are written by the broadcaster, who seems to have responsibility for pretty much everything short of being in the lineup.

I had thoughts that were too long for a social media post so I jotted them down here instead.

What happened to daily Cubs prospect coverage?
