This should have not happened. Measles have been eliminated in the U.S. since 2000. Unfortunately, over the past decade, the populace has gravitated toward junk science and conspiracy ideologies. It is our willful disregard for verifiable evidence that imperils our well-being. Educate people!!

As a practicing physician, I would have preferred a different HHS secretary. However, it seems likely that GOP senators will eventually confirm RFK Jr. I can only hope that the rank and file in the different departments or agencies under HHS will have the courage to deter unscientific policies. 😔

Based on what I know about her, I don’t think she should lead our national intelligence. I guess my opinion is largely different to that of the republicans in the Senate Intelligence Committee. I hope that our service members will be protected from our adversaries if she is eventually confirmed. 🥲
