Next Tuesday. It's a PAYF event, with all money going to the Fringe performer. This time, it's Coventry poet Ann Atkins with her show 'Not a robot'. Come along! 😊

One week today, the first ever 'Arena Nights' is at Wolverhampton's Arena Theatre. It's a game of three halves. One: open-mic for poets who've *learned* their piece. It's about performance. Two: a 10-min work in progress. Three: a fully-fledged Fringe show. wlv.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/...

I'm very concerned about all the #GlobalSumudFlotilla detainees, but especially Hannah Schafer, who seems likely to be held in extended detention in Israel. Israeli armed forces have committed grave and multiple breaches of international law in attacking the flotilla and mistreating its crew.

Write about Walsall.
Poets in the art gallery,

Smashing afternoon over in Ironbridge for the slam. Huge congratulations to Morgan Birch for her win. Well done to David Braziel for achieving 2nd place, and to Mogs for his 3rd place. Thank you to everyone who came along. @pandemonialists.bsky.social couldn't do these events without you.

Congratulations to the three finalists in this year's Ironbridge Festival poetry slam. It was a close-run finish, but in the end Morgan Birch (here clutching victory toilet roll) pipped David Braziel and Mogs to the post. 😊 Our thanks to all fifteen poets who took part – you were amazing!

The next PASTA is on October 21st. Free entry, as always, and the theme for the first half is 'HALLOWEEN'. See you there! 👻
pandemonialists.bsky.social
A wonderfully tasty helping of PASTA at Wolverhampton's Arena Theatre last night. Two people sharing their work in front of an audience for the first time, glorious work on the theme of 'sunshine', and a world first from @davethepitt.bsky.social who performed with a finger (his) in his mouth. 😊

And we're also putting together the line-up for October's Yes We Cant, which will be entirely online (because Wolves are playing at home at teatime on October 5th, and our normal venue will be rammed with supporters celebrating a win or drowning their sorrows...)

Then on Friday we're running a poetry workshop at Brownhills Library as part of #WordUpWalsall. Come along, write a haiku or two, and maybe see your words in lights! 😊

Morecambe Poetry Festival – and Luke – are both great. 😊

Day 2 of Morecambe Poetry Festival today. It's great to be looking out at Morecambe Bay from a B and B. Wow, the light. And talking of Wow... still buzzing from seeing @lukewrightpoet.bsky.social who knocked it so far out of the park it's gone into orbit. Never, ever disappoints.
