I put a folded up blanket on top of a low bookshelf I have and when I tell yall my cats love it. There is something a little magical about waking up and seeing cat on bookshelf I think

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

I like a complicated history I like a fraught emotional tie but I get kind of bummed out by both extremes. I don’t want unearned sweetness but I also get sad when the ship is too hard on each other without some of the old feelings tempering it

Bittersweet is such a hard note to hit in stories sometimes because you have to so carefully navigate between making characters so angry with each other it’s no longer clear they ever loved each other, but not so soft with each other that it’s no longer obvious they have issues with each other

It’s very annoying to have a bum knee that I know gets better with walking and strengthening the muscles around it but doesn’t immediately stop hurting with one (1) long walk
