Trifle featured heavily in a plot point of our radio play and he's wanted to try it ever since! (The poison was in the sprinkles on top, aka hundreds and thousands, based on a Miss Marple story)
For logistical reasons* we are having F's birthday celebration today, 10 days early, and he's only having two close friends over for a tea party**/slumber party, but I still feel like there are so many things to do!!!

So many perfumes and other scented things give me a headache that I haven't tried to wear any since high school. This saddens me because I find perfume and the chemistry around it fascinating.
Had a very 💀 moment this morning when we were in a coffee shop and I spotted an old Netflix movie envelope with a DVD in it at their little free library. I showed it to F and explained how Netflix used to mail people movies and TV shows before they were a streaming service. He was incredulous.
Anyway one of the apple hill places we went to had a nature trail with one zillion zinnias and I took more photos than was strictly necessary. Here is a good one.
I had a specific regular order when I was a student in Berkeley but that was very specific to my disordered eating (I'd get a toasted bagel with just veggies, no cream cheese).
We went to this... history reenactment thing? Where gold was originally found in CA, setting off the gold rush. There were tons of people in period dress ca 1850 doing things people in 1850 did. This lady was making bobbin lace and she showed me how so I got to make a little bit on her project!
This is the Mel Brooks* effect in action and it's incredibly effective. (*A la Springtime for Hitler Expose them for their ridiculousness and hokey theatricality. They hate being called silly)
