yeah it’s another portland ICE episode. write what you know, i say! audrey helps us flesh out some of the details and turns her analyst’s eye to the complex dynamics of the area outside that much-discussed building
Half the Answer #49: Caitlin and Trent speak with livestreamer Audrey Lee about her experiences participating in and documenting protests at the Portland ICE facility. Audrey explains the relationship among the people on the street, the officers, the counterprotesters, and right-wing influencers.

@caitlinmoriah.bsky.social and I had a wonderful time speaking with @attackerman.bsky.social about Iron Man and an absolute litany of topics in the national security sector from Bush to Trump and everyone between; how did we get here? We had many questions and he, many answers!
Half the Answer #51: Trent and Caitlin speak with journalist Spencer Ackerman about the CIA, DHS, and other parts of the US government ostensibly protecting us from terrorism. What are the precedents for the intolerable level of human rights and privacy violations we see today?
Half the Answer #51: National Delirium: NatSec in Post-9/11 America, from Dubya to Donny

trying to remember a time i was out or at a party and the best social move would have been to hurl a litany of insults at someone about their appearance. coming up blank here. why would that be the thing you want to do, let alone to then outsource your le epic r/roastme to a chatbot
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

my left kidney to live in a universe where wolf blitzer would make everybody sit there quietly while he read the actual oath so they can gasp and gulp like fish out of water instead of blithely lying on national television
BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

(Not a no!)

i see gen z at the portland ICE facility every time i go there. even some high schoolers. and they know exactly why they’re there. the millennials/gen x/boomers know who they are and do our best to protect them from the attacks of the agents. they are so brave and i would hate to see them ignored

The key point: "The absence of young people from conventional protests is both a problem and a warning."

man they really really hate that americans are stepping up to protect our neighbors from them
Dipshit is smashing out a car window with his gun, barrel first. Just rogue, cowboy stiff.

There were two US citizens in the car. They were apprehended and detained for “obstructing” ICE by honking their horn to let people know ICE was in the neighborhood.

this man has blood on his hands and everyone who supported him and excused him has blood on their hands and I do not want to hear a single fucking Democrat with any position other than "impeach and remove him immediately"

he and his MAHA movement are child killers
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.

Trump is filling his government with Nazis, consolidating authoritarian power, and eroding democracy at every chance.

And yet these 86 House Democrats voted for a right-wing messaging amendment to say that the real authoritarians are the socialists.

Pathetic.

also let’s talk about the double standard applied to the wide variety of things called “divisive”

crt is divisive therefore we must conduct witch hunts at schools to root it out

swastikas are merely divisive, why should we do anything all when we see one
This is fucking horrifying.

Swastikas and nooses are just “potentially divisive”? Are you kidding me?

“insubordinate” really tells you a lot, does it not, about how he views the role of the press
Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

TRUMP: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you're a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who's highly respected asking him an insubordinate question
