Made more progress on the locomotive: built the tank and started building the cab. So far, everything fits, no glue was required, and it's an interesting change from the detailed paper work. #woodcraft #train #scalemodel #histscalemodels
I started building the cab - here are the side walls and a frame to keep the shape of the roof. A detailed view of the front side of the tank. The plough and other details are still missing. The platform of the cab. All the controls are just "pained" on the interior of the tank using laser. The cab even includes two small chairs. I didn't finish any builds in 2025 but I also didn't quit, so I guess it was an OK year after all 😅

The interior side of the wall. I glued a piece of 0.5mm cardboard to the top to make attaching it to the curved surface of the roof easier. The exterior part of the wall. Some profiles are just pained on as textures.

The fitting of the air filters actually depends on the position of the cab, so I went to build that before attaching any of it. Starting by cutting out and shaping the main part of the cab body - and added "glass" to it. #papercraft #Tatra815 #AV15 #scalemodel #histscalemodels

Added a frame that will hold air filters and the exhaust pipe to the chassis. On this version of the truck, the exhaust is facing up behind the cab. Also did a dry fit test of the engine to the chassis, it looks like it fits just right. #papercraft #Tatra815 #AV15 #scalemodel #histscalemodels

Built the exhaust pipes and attached them to the engine. Due to a fairly complex shape, these pipes are flat (and I wasn't motivated enough to sculpt them from aluminium wires). #papercraft #Tatra815 #AV15 #scalemodel #histscalemodels

In reality, the Tatra logo on the fan does not turn, and it's always in the natural position. I did not pay attention to the orientation when I was building the body, but now I couldn't unsee it so I fixed it and made the part more plastic. #papercraft #Tatra815 #AV15 #scalemodel #histscalemodels
