Not sure I understand. In my world, politicians would be us, our neighbors. Nothing to practice for, just a wish to make things better. If you can read and think, you can be a lawmaker. We need to make sure we hire thinkers, planners, doers.

I hate both the republican and democrats (some democrats are good)
But you could have republican groups with their awful set of laws and democrat group with own set of laws and it’s weak doormat leadership and a progressive group with it’s set of laws
But those groups can come later
