a mystery bird from tonights #patchbirding
Only managed this photo ,the bird looked all black and I couldn’t make out any features as it was dusk . I’ve attached video of the call it was making (like a clack sound) it was associating with the magpies
Anyone any ideas ? Thanks

Excellent effort both, patch birding with its finest treats!
64 species on our 25 km cycle around NE Cairthness yesterday, with Great-spotted Woodpecker and Tree Sparrow good additions to the 10 km #PWC2026 list.
The only photo I took was @rob-hughes-birder.bsky.social admiring his cake!

The results are in on the #PWC2025 Best Find comp! Congratulations to @seanoh58.bsky.social for his Black Scoter which came in first then second place goes to @williamlambourne.bsky.social with his Black Redstart and third to @andysims49.bsky.social for his Pectoral Sandpiper. Well done you three!

Nice start to #PWC2026 for Liam and great to get more participants in the West Coast England mini-league!
Belatedly added my St Ives patch to @patchbirding.bsky.social and added Dunlin and a Chiffchaff on a morning wander. My current total stands at 56 points from 46 species however a breaching Atlantic Bluefin Tuna off the island this evening is probably my best record so far! #UKbirding

If you haven't seen, we are doing 'Pin Your Patch'. It is just a google maps where people can pin their patches to. It is non-compulsory (just a fun idea), and don't pin to your home! Simply join the list and add a place anywhere within your patch!

I'm 100% patch focused anyway, albeit a large one at on a 18 sq mile isle! But Patchwork Challenge is so much fun. You can see it as a competition with other patchers, or like me see it as a competition within yourself year on year. Join in #PWV2026!
