Our last night in Wicklow for this year. After torrential rain this morning we were gifted with the most beautiful sunset and moonrise. Season’s end, sadness to be leaving and gratitude for this heavenly place. 🙏

There’s an almost imperceptible change in the light. The garden, like an aging film star, a little blowsy but still beautiful. The merest hint of a turn on the leaves. I won’t mention the A word although it’s almost a month since the longest day. #TimeIsFlying

Drove to Wexford to put flowers on the grave. Candles lit for all. Graveyard as peaceful and uplifting as ever & it didn’t rain, nor when we lunched in Cois na hAbhann, or when driving past our favourite ladies, in Camolin. But the heavens certainly opened just as we got back to Wickla!☔️😳 #RainsCame

It’s a sit-in-the-shade sort of day because it’s a scorcher. The crop is rippling in the breeze and my first sweet pea has blossomed. It’s so uplifting to just sit and enjoy the beauty and balm of nature.
