Quite the transformation: the Art Deco former Bradford Odeon (William Illingworth, 1930) was nearly lost to demolition, now reborn as the £50 million Bradford Live entertainment venue.

NEW: The UK Government has confirmed £64m of new investment in culture projects.

This is a positive development since the Autumn Budget, when ministers said they were “minded to cancel” £100m of Levelling Up culture funding.

But £36m remains uncommitted.
