This is what’s going on in the studio today. I’ve got to the point where I have to pause and decide if I’ve finished it yet… or if there’s something more to do. Digestion time is so important. If I do any more today I know I will lose it. Nice bit of colour granulation in the fur.

Workbook a few weeks ago. I experienced a bit of a problem with trying out alcohol based pens. The colour bled through the paper. Really relaxing to work through creating these #celticknot patterns. Time consuming when you add the colouring up too. Many hours but totally hooked.

Saw this beautiful bench on my city wander. Kinda speaks Celtic to me…

So you don’t have to have just the one cord running through the design. Here are some examples of working through designs that end up with multiple cords or paths. I find these very soothing. #celticknot

Celtic knot journey: curves. Love that you can follow the interwoven curves all the way around and end up back to the beginning without a break. Gold and white. #celticknot

A wet bank holiday morning. Even the pup is taking it easy

Heavy spring showers here today but gentle enough to allow for pausing to enjoy the flowers. Delightful apple blossoms and rain drops.

Happy Friday! What are damp bank holidays for but to catch up on mini projects. These are the last four cut down curtains laid out on the rug and being reshaped with lining added. It’s going well up until when the lab plants her big paws on the work.
Four small curtains work in progress on the lining with recycled old school fabric. In the background are some bench cushions being reshaped and dressed.

Trees 'sleep' at night 😴🌲

In 2016 researchers from the Centre for Ecological Research in Hungary pointed laser scanners at two birch trees, one in Austria & one in Finland. Between two hours after sunset and just before sunrise, the trees branches drooped by as much as 10cm🌳

A sunny Sunday walk through fields around Hanbury Worcs was a delight with hedges bursting into flower. Lovely intoxicating scents of the May Blossom.

Incredible that this oak tree still lives as it looks like it only has the bark left. Perhaps it got struck by lightning.

Our roads no place for SUVs

European Transport Safety Council found that in a collision between a modest-size SUV (1,600kg) and a lighter car (1,300kg), the risk of fatal injury decreases by 50% for the occupants of the heavier car but INCREASES by almost 80% for the occupants of the lighter car.
