Ex-Keswick Cumbrian exile, lost in literature, environment, ecociticism, weird fiction, capitalocene, fiddle, traditional and non-traditional music (often at the same time), and lots of walking & cycling isms and ings
The viral success of the Harris Reel number one prompted me to have another go. Dark atmosphere seems to keep happening, even with cheerful tunes

People keep saying oh no, America has abandoned 'its longstanding championing of the rule of law, human rights, democracy and the territorial integrity of nation states'. Surely they abandoned all that back in 2003, if not before?

As Trump menaces Greenland, this much is clear: the free world needs a new plan – and inspired leadership | Gordon Brown
The idea that the liberal rules-based order can survive his presidency now seems complacent. This is a historic moment – and a time to act, says former UK prime minister Gordon Brown

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

@davidallengreen.bsky.social I'm unable to reply to your earlier post. I wasn't taking anything out on you, merely expressing how those AI music videos annoy me. It wasn't a criticism aimed personally. I only have a tiny following so I'm sure anything I say vanishes into the ether. I love your posts

The most petty and deeply ignorant letter in the history of international diplomacy has been delivered.
