"How long, O Lord? I cry for help but you do not listen. I cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not intervene. The vision still has its time…If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not be late." (Hb 1:2,2:3) Hope in times of despair is more than any mustard seed can alone provide.

Very welcome.

Regarding the question about priesthood, the best thing for any person to do is to start a conversation with a vocations director.

It would be easy to just say "no."

But, if someone has a vocation on the brain, it's always good to speak with a vocations director.

First, the "nun" question:

There is a distinction there between "nuns" and "sisters."

Some of the orders and societies of sisters may have different approaches to this.

For anyone becoming a nun or a sister, they spend time in discernment with a vocation director about all aspects of identity.

Pope Leo XIV today: "Brothers and sisters, those boats which hope to catch sight of a safe port, and those eyes filled with anguish and hope seeking to reach the shore, cannot and must not find the coldness of indifference or the stigma of discrimination!"

". . . Courage and sacrifice must be the hallmark of our actions at this moment of historic and deliberate suffering being visited upon people living truly good lives that are a credit to our nation. As citizens, we must not be silent as this profound injustice is carried out in our name."

Help us to participate in your creating power of love in ways big and small. Most of all, increase our faith that we may truly believe in You who are bigger than it all. AMEN
