#hiking to Granite Lakes via the Granite Creek trail near North Bend, WA. Much of the trial is a reforested logging road, so pretty much a tree walk uphill until you get to the lake area. Uphill just over 750 meters.

#hiking #backpacking to Lake Ann near Mount Baker in Washington State. The views were amazing. Mount Shuskin was stunning with its glaciers. In the evening we could hear the cracks and pops of one of the glaciers. My son said it was one of the best places he has ever been.

Took a quick overnight #hiking #backpacking trip in the Olympic National Park up the Hoh river valley trail. We stayed at the Happy Four camp area. Fun, beautiful views and massive trees. Some of the old growth trees are simply stunning, so big it is hard to imagine something can grow that large.

#hiking to Beckler Peak in Washington state, near Skykomish, WA. Some great views of the mountains in the area, including Glacier Peak, one of the Washington volcanoes.

#hiking up to Boulder Lake, near Sultan, WA for an one night (rainy) #backpacking trip. Beautiful lake, really nice trail with several decent back country camping sites, many with fire pits. My son even got a little bit of Tenkara fishing in (didn't catch anything).

#hiking this weekend in the Pacific Northwest near Index, WA. My son and I attempted to get to Blanca Lake, unfortunately, the snow was too deep and we didn't feel safe at a steep ridge with drop-offs on either side and turned around. Views were amazing anyway.

More #hiking photos from my trip up to Mailbox Peak in the Cascades of Washington State, near North Bend, WA. It requires an elevation gain of about 1200 meters (4000 ft) of elevation gain over 8.5 km one way.

#hiking to Mailbox Peak in the #pnw. Typical western Washington State hike, first you hike up, then you hike down.

#Hiking in the Redmond, WA watershed preserve, an urban forest with about 10 miles of trails. A few trail runners and some walkers out, but surprisingly low amount of human traffic.
