First bloom ever on this one-year old Houstonia canadensis (Canada bluet)!

One tiny pale blue flower, with a flower pink buds near it. Plant has long reddish colour stems with a cluster of narrow leaves at each end. Plant is about 3 inches tall and is surrounded by wood chips.

A paper white birch is starting to leaf out and has it's first catkins on some of the branches. The trunk is still the sapling bronze colour.

In our yard, this year's first blossom on a fruit or nut tree is a Hargrand Semi-Dwarf apricot! Hope there aren't any late frosts.

Some of the seedlings sown inside this February are hardening off this week: Capnoides sempervirens (Pale Corydalis/Rock Harlequin), Sorghastrum nutans (Yellow Prairie grass), Eragrostis spectabilis (purple lovegrass) and a non-native annual pansy 'Super Chalon'.
