Roll was 3d or graphite and I didn't have the energy to do another 3d thing. It can be pretty tough to make a cartoonish style look good in pencil unless you totally forgo shading - so I probably won't go for this combination again

I'd like to add penguins for consideration as weirdest biped. Tiny stubby legs, a tail that cannot possibly help with terrestrial balance, additional mode of movement (tobogganing) specific to ice. Flightless and also a fish.

So far I've stuck to the zorn palette, but here I think I'll try to bring in some cadmium yellow for the lighting, and maybe even a tiny bit of actual blue to make some really deep shadows

So I think I want to do something a bit more wild and ambitious in oil. Soul Eater is such a visually interesting show, and I remember being really frustrated as a kid that I could never capture the same kind of movement in my drawings. This is probably going to go poorly 😅
