My mom and stepdad are from the same diaspora group as Zohran Mamdani’s dad (same like “my stepdad was kicked out of the same town and knows some of his classmates”) and apparently the New York Times doesn’t understand how diaspora works, so I am going to tell you a little about my mom’s people!

Celebrating Tom Crane's retirement from @glcommission.bsky.social after 39 years of service to the #GreatLakes region. "We couldn't accomplish anything individually," he said. "It's in collaboration that we're able to do our work and to have success in the region." Thank you & well done, Tom!

Enjoyed tour of #Fishpass yesterday. Removing barrier & water flowed over labyrinth weir for the first time! Shifting work to north side of river to begin work on fish-sorting channel.
