One of our favourite pkaces to eat in York is Ippuku Japanese Tea House. It's incredibly authentic Japanese without a sushi in sight. The 12yo loves their onigiri rice balls. I think their okonomiyaki is fantastic - I can't get close with my home-cooked attempts. And their sencha tea is to die for.

NATO has let it be known that Russia may be developing a space weapon consisting of a field of “shrapnel” to take out Starlink satellites. It is akin to shrapnel floating in space. The principle is always “tit for tat”, it is logical NATO might want to counter this perceived weapon.

Depicting two bundled-up children lying down and stargazing, the stenciled street art that appeared over a row of garages could be a reference to the estimated 102,000 unhoused children residing in temporary accommodations in the capital city.

Mountain Perspective
When I took this photo, the snowy ridges naturally pulled my eye toward Mount Rainier, with the forest and winding river below adding depth, and the layered clouds reinforcing just how vast this PNW landscape felt.

What detail do you notice first?

I hate to feel angry, useless and powerless. I can't even give a few € to buy drones like in Ukraine. It's all over the world : Myanmar, Artsakh, Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan... Mass slaughter, mass torture, mass rape, women and children systematically targeted by whole armies of criminals...

“I carried him on my back. It took seven days.” A camp in eastern Chad is now home to more than 100,000 refugees of Sudan’s civil war, and is a key destination for those fleeing El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State. Resources are strained as the number of newly displaced people increases.

Interesting.
People who say that the Palestinian genocide has nothing to do with them just haven’t connected capitalism with imperialism. Because this economic system fails those within empire, many will go elsewhere to seize land a resources for themselves.

The urgency of this challenge is clear. According to data, low-Earth orbit can accommodate about 60,000 satellites, yet global plans exceed 100,000. Managing this mismatch requires transparent, scientifically designed regulatory mechanisms.
