I love this amazing beautiful planet. Garden with passion. Ecology, wild places, climate, nutrition, origami art. Introspective. Mindful. Live with gratitude. Former science teacher, traveler. Politics blue. Try kindness. Photos mine unless reposted.

Here is a look at my backyard from a previous year. Photo is taken from the top of a berm at the rear of my lot, looking down towards the house. Almost all of this was grass when I moved here. Now it’s almost all cultivated. Things have been rearranged a bit since then but the layout is the same. 🌱💙

You’re very kind, flourpower7. Thank you. 💙
I wish everyone would have the opportunity to see and photograph their own milkweed seeds and we could have monarch butterflies everywhere!

Thank you so much for that compliment, Ams! 🙏💙

Thank you for the kind comment, Sally. 🙏
Have a nice evening and sweet dreams.

I’ll leave you all tonight with this gentle little milkweed seed, resting on a twig for a while before it continues its journey. Destination unknown.

Sleep well everyone. Dream of happy destinations, happy tomorrows.

I love that! 😃🤓😎🤭🤩

Of course you can! Anyone can! Even a few pots on an apartment balcony. 😊🪴
My neighbor had her first-ever garden this year in two small raised bed containers she got from a friend. And she had a great harvest of cucumbers, beans, and other things. I’ll look forward to seeing you get started!
😃💚🌱🌿🍀

If I were a painter, I would paint this.

But Mom Nature already did, and she holds the copyright on the original.

The resident saw on their security camera that a bear was trying to play on the outdoor swing every day, but was unable to climb in. So they built a bigger swing.

This might be a spiny sea urchin.

But since it’s green and near my garden, it’s more likely a thistle. 😄

Apparently it doesn’t want to be messed with. 🤔

Beautiful photos, so serene. Not much fall color here either. But the hoodie does feel good!
Have a peaceful day, Nick!

Fantastic! Watch for flash floods in canyons and stay safe out there. 🥰

You know, I almost walked right past it. It was curled there, next to my outdoor water faucet. I forgot about watering and ran for my camera. 😊

Here it is mid-October, the mornings are cold, and the sun is getting lower in the sky. Shadows are long now. And yet this little pepper flower isn’t calling it quits. Not yet. And if you look closely, a tiny pollinator has appeared.

That’s determination! I’ll take a lesson from it. 🌿🤍
