Inspired by the story of Angel Meadow in Manchester for teaching Industrial living conditions for OCR B, I've done something similar for the East End of London in the 20th century using the amazing The Abyss of London by the aptly named Jack London. This story really helps build the East End world

The Alpine war is fascinating
I also found this photo of Italian troops fighting the Austrians in the Alps really intriguing. A reminder that we must teach the FWW as a global war and ensured our narratives give enough focus to the Western Front, but don’t allow it to dominate.

Strongly agree. So many 17th century enquiries miss out King James I. He’s not just fascinating but his reign is crucial foundational knowledge to understand what comes next. Here’s a story we use to kick off our enquiry.

Absolutely transfixed by the story of Abel Heywood and Angel Meadow in #changinghistories - this is an incredible story for People’s Health OCR B and got an idea on how to use it to teach pretty much this whole enquiry. Fab world building @willgoodfellow82.bsky.social
