What an embarrassment this Trump Department of Justice is.

The pressure these government attorneys are under to defend these irrational policies before federal judges is why they are leaving in droves.

They sure do! We recently installed them in our home, work great, have greatly reduced our reliance on oil heat boiler, doing our part to reduce fossil fuel output.

I wonder how many other state & federal leaders have done the same?

Let’s lead from the front!

Heat pumps. Do they work? And what about the bills? Here’s what readers had to say. - The Boston Globe
Heat pumps use outside temperature differences to make our homes cozy and warm, while lowering our reliance on fossil fuels that drive climate change.

Let me get this straight.

Trump uses the power of this great nation to extort someone to given their Nobel Prize to him.

And the nation shrugs?

What the hell are we doing?

The way to more affordable energy is forward. With clean energy.

Spare us excuses about the Trump Administration.

The Governor has dropped the ball consistently on clean energy over the last four years.

Rhode Islanders deserve so much better.

Happy New Year ……

And best wishes for smooth sailing in 2026.

I know. It’s not likely.

But I always start the year as an optimist.

In 2025, our Office rolled out a series of health care-related initiatives aimed at providing immediate relief and long-term solutions for Rhode Island’s health care system. Together, RI leaders must boldly act, with urgency and determination, to fix what is broken.

More to come in 2026.

This year, we tackled violence in our communities in part by prosecuting individuals responsible for violent crime, seeking justice for victims & their families. Our Office remains staunchly committed keeping RI'ers safe by all means available to us.

Our Office is laser-focused on Roger Williams & Fatima. The continued viability of these safety-net hospitals is essential to ensure all RI'ers have access to quality care. They are integral to our community network of care & employ thousands of RI'ers, & we will continue to prioritize them in 2026.

Rhode Islanders love our Consumer Protection Team.

So do I!
Consumers: we’ve got your back. So far in 2025, our Consumer Protection Unit has resolved 378 consumer complaints, resulting in over $1.2 million in value returned to Rhode Islanders, and still counting.

Hopefully more of this won’t be necessary in 2027.

But I doubt it.
Since January 20, the federal Administration has taken actions that extend far beyond the President’s constitutional authority, impacting the rights of Rhode Islanders in real time. Our Office is leading the charge, taking key issues to RI federal court & courtrooms across the country, & winning.

I have two major after—action takeaways from the awful Brown mass-shooting that I am prepared to share at this point:

The law enforcement coordination was outstanding and the work relentless - and I saw a lot of it in real time.

This year, we sought further justice for victims of the opioid epidemic by going after those responsible for marketing these highly addictive drugs. To date, we have brought more than $315M in cash and lifesaving medication to RI, all of which will be used for treatment, prevention, and recovery.

What a terrible day at Brown last night, in the very building where both my sons were educated not long ago.

In the command post last night, I saw dozens of law enforcement officers led by PPD and our prosecutors working this case and making steady progress.

We’ll achieve justice. More to come.

This organization and its principal are MAGA through and through.

You’re either a democrat or you’re not.

And differences regarding who should be leading the caucus should have nothing to do with it.

This kind of bs goes on far too often in RI Dem politics.

I, for one, reject it.
December 8, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Whew! We’ve been busy holding the Trump Administration accountable for breaking the law and hurting Rhode Islanders.

Dem AGs and our amazing staffs are leading this fight. Proud of them and their work.

While we negotiated,
Charest was having conversations with Prime his own DOH didn’t know about.

He wouldn’t put those conversations in writing.

Draw your own conclusions.

We’ll be in bankruptcy court again this morning leading for RI’ers.

But we’re not going to cut a bad deal that hurts them.
LATE UPDATE: Secretary Charest is now firing back at the AG, insisting his conversations about the hospitals with his old colleagues at Prime were only "contingency planning" and "not negotiations"

Also lays out his own timeline for how talks evolved www.wpri.com/business-new...
