Even the Final Showdown was further than I expected for this ambitious 250 word story!

I got past the first (64) bracket and finished in the 32s.

I know 3 of the 4 semi finalists from different writing groups and all the stories were amazing.

This was a tough Battle, amazing work everyone!

The antiprompts have been fun, but I've also loved them for exploring *why* the "rules" are there. It's been really instructive when you work back the way.

"Their neck craned..." Hmm, too passive and overly awkward, "They peeked..." Much more direct, conveys intent. I'm sure this is better.
