This, along with the seizure of ballots and voting data, is another massive red flag for Americans: This is the kind of thing authoritarians say and do when they are preparing to rig the vote.

They are preparing to steal your vote, and you have to take action now to stop them.

This country is not beating the "willing to downplay or ignore the sexual abuse of minors" allegations anytime soon.
A new trailer for “Michael,” starring Jaafar Jackson and directed by Antoine Fuqua, is out:

I'm old enough to remember when vowing to sue someone for cracking a joke about you was considered, fairly definitively, to be Loser Behavior.
President Trump is threatening to sue Trevor Noah over a joke at last night's Grammy Awards, saying that Noah's crack claiming he visited Jeffrey Epstein's island was "false and defamatory."
Trump threatens to sue Trevor Noah over joke about Epstein's island
President Donald Trump called the joke, which Noah made at last night's Grammy Awards, "false and defamatory," again insisting he has never visited Jeffrey Epstein's island.

Let's check in on the Twitter Files guy -- who insisted that the behind the scenes decision-making on content moderation was the most important issue of our time -- and see what he thinks about the publication of communications involving the most notorious sex predator of our generation.

Absolutely brutal interview

Turns out @wpri12.bsky.social did interview the Tegu Guy, and he's amazing.
February 2, 2026 at 2:49 PM
It's entirely possible that someone in Rhode Island lost their tegu during the Big Storm and learned, via the news, that the tegu had been found.

My aunt in NYC, who is a regular Times reader, sent me this story via text and said "Just checking in with a rare RI lizard story."
"A Rhode Island man digging out his driveway this week discovered a large lizard thousands of miles from its natural habitat buried in nearly 20 inches of snow, leaving the animal weakened but on a slow path to recovery."

This is another outrageous attack on the dignity and safety of trans people — part of the ongoing campaign to eliminate them.

Also, *everyone* is less safe when a state is stripping legal ID from a scapegoat group. It’s a direct attack on trans people. It’s also precedent.
An extreme Kansas bill will invalidate the drivers license of every trans person in the state. It was passed alongside a particularly extreme bathroom bill, meaning that the implications of every trans Kansan losing legal ID overnight has largely been missed.
Kansas Bill Will Strip Driver’s Licenses from Every Trans Resident Who Changed Gender — Assigned
As Kansas passes a bathroom bill, another bill that will invalidate the driver’s license of every trans resident has been deemphasized in the coverage. Also, Trump’s Department of Education says San J...

Programming note: the reckoning has been postponed indefinitely.
I am absolutely sickened by the many rich, powerful & famous men whose names are being outed in these files as having gone to Epstein's island.

Rep. Thomas Massie & I always said this would be a moral reckoning for our nation.

Looks like that reckoning begins today.

[b] In the street (making already-narrow streets more difficult to navigate)
[c] blocking driveways, to a lesser/greater extent
[d] other (please explain)
