Today, workers at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania announced they are forming a union and joining us in Philly Cultural Workers United - AFSCME District Council 47 Local 397.

We are excited to welcome these Philly cultural workers as the seventh chapter of Local 397!

Earlier this week, our chapter at the Penn Museum voted unanimously to ratify their new union contract! Their win follows weeks of intense negotiations. The previous contract expired on June 30th and members had voted unanimously to authorize a strike if necessary.

PMA contract ratified! Last night, members of our chapter at the Philadelphia Museum of Art voted 99% to ratify a new 3-year union contract! The founding chapter of our local, PMA Union has been fighting for many of the wins in this contract since first unionizing in 2020!

We know Trump’s new NLRB appointee Crystal Carey. We sat across the table from her when she was representing @philamuseum.bsky.social mgmt in the negotiations for our first union contract. The negotiations that dragged on for years and we won with a 3 week strike. We know Crystal Carey all too well.
