The fact that a majority of Ontarians think the province is headed in the wrong direction, while DF is still polling well, shows that the Opposition parties haven't been able to put forward a leader to get behind. This should be an important lesson. But will they learn it?

The new polling from Leger finds that only one third of Ontarians say things are heading in the right direction.

The lesson from this: voters respond to actual policy, not just the politics of grievance. Voters want their governments to speak to their needs, not give empty promises or culture war BS. When candidates give voters something real to vote for, they respond.
Mamdani has now gotten more votes than 1/4 of the members of the United States Senate did when they got elected. The political power being channeled here is immense.

Doug Ford's obsession with Toronto is pretty dangerous. The city rejected him as mayor, and it seems he will never let us live that down. To him, "punish" Toronto seems to be job one of the Provinces premier.

There's a near-zero chance that Poilievre will let this go to a non-confidence vote. I don't think he can afford to go to the polls. He's losing popularity every day. The NDP certainly won't let this fail. They don't have a leader. Unlikely we go back to the polls.
