This is bullshit. The LLM happily spit out words that are used in papers and publications that have previously announced the design and synthesisation of viruses, but it did nothing of the sort. We don't even know if this virus is viable.

Also it's rather funny that conservatives choose to view universities through some kind of totalitarian lens as trade schools in which students are steered to skills chosen for them and in which they will be put to work upon graduation. Not even China ever quite managed that, though it tried.
