Stacks on stacks on stacks 👏🏻

Setting them up is fun for me lol labels, printing and installing the vents, adding substrates, bark, rocks and mosses

All set up above our Gecko terrariums for some handy temp control 👌🏻

Every time I think I've separated out all my isopods, a Panda king appears 😂

Since they were some of the first ones we started with for our Gecko clean up crew, they've sort of made their way through everything.
A Panda King isopod (cubaris sp) and Golden Spot isopod (armadillidium gestroi) hang out together on a piece of bark. They cannot interbreed and enjoy different levels of substrate, so they're happy to share a tank. Our Golden Spots looove zucchini <3

Nowadays I think I buy it more for them than I do myself lol
A large golden spot isopod, armadillidium gestroi and a bundle of juveniles eat away at the top of a zucchini. They've eaten away most of the outer skin and have been happily feasting away on the rest of it. Those are some happy isopods!

🐄 Dairy Cows 🐄

I got into isopods after the dairy cow hype, but now having had them a while - I totally get it

These funky little moos have such big personalities! I love all their different cow spots

Two dairy cow isopods (Porcellio laevis) huddle together comfortably. They're mostly white with little cow spots, thus their name! They are a little chunky and relatively large compared to other isopods. A single dairy cow isopod, Porcellio laevis, snuffles around on a rock. Covered in powdered isopod food! He's looking for the perfect piece to bite. Two dairy cow isopods (Porcellio laevis) huddle together comfortably. They're mostly white with little cow spots, thus their name! They are a little chunky and relatively large compared to other isopods. A Porcellio laevis, dairy cow isopod, sits in a piece of egg carton, having just woken up from their hidey spot. They wiggle their little antennae curiously at the photographer, me lol. This one has the regular cow spots over their back, but also a cute little extra spots around their face - giving them some cheek spots!

Sometimes you have to zoom aaaalllll the way in to tell if you're seeing baby cubaris... or chubby springtails.

✨ Gathering Log✨

This is in an old pic, but this chunk of aquarium wood is still a high fav for my golden spots to climb and gather on. Every so often I move it around or switch it up & they all clamour around to explore it like it's brand new again.
