The Scent of His Jumper

I'm not afraid
of these blades
nor the teeth
they shelter
and if I
should perish,
I will not flinch,
but wolf
whatsoever remains,
for as long
as the scent
of his jumper
lingers on,
I’ll find radiance
probing the corners
of the most
uninviting place.

Rose on Its Vine

Just because something is miniscule,
must it always be insecure?
I'm the littlest bit in love with you;
should you like, you could make it more.

You recognise me as you run sometimes
and I stroll in a suit and tie.
Whenever you grin, I would grin you back,
were I ever that kind of guy.

I'm a curious breed who's most at home
with a host of fluorescent pens
and I beaver away on romantic graphs
well concealed from my curious friends.

I wish to uncover a single rose
as we cross on a winter's day.
I suspect from the time I impose myself,
you'll start running a different way
and the littlest bit is my favourite part,
so the rose on its vine shall stay.
