Sometimes I get lost in the details and forget the reason I write is becasue I BLOODY LOVE IT! So, when things get a bit stressful, I try to work out how to make it fun again ❤️ #ukteenchat

Hmmm… quick tips: Keep writing. Keep putting your stuff out there. Grow your rejection rhino skin. Write what you love - not what you think others will love - and you words will find their place xx

Oh! And write what you love. You will edit it SO many times, you really have to love it. Writing is re-writing and you have to have a whole lot of heart in there to keep pulling something apart and putting it back together again.

I can’t say too much but… I’m currently working through edits on a ‘smash the system’ book. Really having run with it. A sort of hopeful dystopian novel.

I'm in awe! If I plot too tightly, my characters start rebelling... damn my rebellious nature 🤣 but I do need a road map, otherwise the process just becomes sooooo loooooong! #ukteenchat

I’m a hopeful plotter, with lots of accidental pantsing. I fantasise about being organised and really struggle to keep order in my brain. But I really do try! Between scrivener, my diary, sketchbook and notebooks, I can generally make some sense of my life, plans, ideas & thoughts.

Being so busy, I have to be super flexible, so I can write pretty much anywhere… but having a cup of tea when writing is always nice.

Writing at 5am gives me time and space to create before my family wakes up. And my subconscious is cleverer than my conscious and at that time I feel like my conscious mind is still catching up on Z’s while my subconscious does all the heavy lifting.

I look back and only remember the fun bits 🤣 I was given so much freedom and working with Becky the book designer was awesome!!! I kept suggesting things and she kept saying yes... it really was a dream!!! A dream that was many, many hours of hard work 🤣 #ukteenchat
