The answer is no! Philadelphians are suffering a man-made affordability crisis. Recent tax cuts to the BIRT have are only benefiting big businesses and corporate investors. Our people are being displaced, and being forced to make impossible decisions between what bills they can pay each month.
Corporate investors buy one in four Philly home to rent out, blocking out home ownership for our community members. Can we still afford to own a piece of our city?

This past weekend our faith leaders stood united against Philly’s harmful BIRT tax cuts. As Jayson Massey shared, they’ll cost the city $2.8B and force residents to carry the load.
We’re organizing hard ahead of our Feb 1 assembly.

Schools shouldn’t have to beg to stay open.
Morrisville might close classrooms if the PA budget doesn’t pass soon.
This is a moral failure — not a money issue.

Philadelphia Gas Works isn’t just raising bills. They’re spending YOUR money to sell a lie. Their ads rebrand dirty, expensive methane gas as “clean,” exploiting safety PSAs to greenwash fossil fuels. Philly deserves transparency & a real clean energy future.

whyy.org/articles/pgw...
Why does PGW spend ratepayer money to promote natural gas as 'clean' energy?
Utility records show Philadelphia Gas Works spent $4.2 million on promotions over a 14-month period ending in November 2024.
