Sometimes I hesitate to say things that feel trite or overdone or "eh, they've probably heard it before" or "not my place to say that."

But I remember a post I read recently about how small talk is important actually, cuz if nothing else it actively expresses a bit of attention and care.

On telegram, when I want to type a green heart emoji (one of my calling cards), I do it by typing :greh and then letting autocomplete give me my heart.
