Yeah when we say suburb it's closer to what the US calls a neighbourhood, it's not necessarily referring to THE suburbs. Idk why we decided to do it differently

Yes, for a while, but the tone of the Harbour bridge + nation wide marches was different (except newscorp).

I've seen many posts from people in Gaza thanking people in Australia for marching for them. That it gives them hope and the strength to keep going. It does matter

I have seen the shift in the mainstream media. They report on us now, where for years they hadn't.

And I always believe, even if it achieves no change, we show the people in Gaza our efforts, that we are trying, and that we have not abandoned them. That to me is worth it.

I understand, but I was talking about people I specifically know, and not the general population. The people I know do have the ability to do more, but they don't. I was airing frustration here, but I try to lead by example irl.

The marches are almost always very peaceful btw.

Overt display is important to show the scale of public opinion. When we are alone on social media, we are isolated, invisible and ignored

But when hundreds of thousands of people march in the streets we are visible, and it shows that this is not just a fringe issue.

Buying things from Palestinian owned businesses can help more than you think, if you have the means.

Distance is obviously a hurdle for a lot of things, but everyone has the right to call their MP.

The people I'm talking about live in/near the city where there are a lot of opportunities to protest, fundraise, hold/go to events to raise awareness and show support. So they have the opportunities, but don't do much more than like instagram posts.

Speculating but I think the Kirk shooter was another school shooter who wanted notariety.

We place on acts idealogies that we understand. But we are very bad at understanding the motive behind school shooters (because they're so depraved).

I would've thought it'd be the other way round. Script being AI and the animation not, since LLMs are language models first.

My only comment on Taylor Swift getting engaged is that engagement rings with massive diamonds are so fucking ugly to me. Maybe it's also the combined fact that they're tacky and a symbol of exorbitant wealth.

I'm so tired of hearing that we need to "teach our students how to use AI" when the thing they most need to use it is a critical-thinking skill set that can only be acquired by NOT using it. I'm tired of hearing that it's inevitable. I'm tired.
