Yes! I feel like they're both the equivalent of engineers just with different specialties. It's not like Jayce is a jock and Viktor's the "actual scientist" or like Viktor doesn't also build things. That's why they work so well together.

Yeah I think their little cottage-core life could only last them so long before they start going nuts from under-using their brain and idealism. As a creative who's been in the more abusive side of the industry yeah it would be nice to take a break but you couldn't keep me away from drawing forever!

(Also while I understand where Jayce was coming from, I do think he worded it poorly in the moment, because Jayce is coming from a place of love and recent hurt and Viktor can only hear it as meaningless platitudes, which is the fundamental tragedy in their disconnect. Thank the gods for Ekko!)

You are correct and should say it louder!

I think people are being defensive and so was Viktor, which is why I think he ALSO misses the point in the show. He's not ready to hear that so it doesn't work. He had to LITERALLY see into Jayce's mind to see what he meant, to see it was genuine.

What a beautiful thread, and about an aspect of his character that often goes unexplored too! Especially post-canon. Jayce's relationship to academia and manual labor, legacy and progress is fascinating. He is still building tools to better society with, but from a place "beyond" in his mind.

Seriously! For Piltover to be that overgrown and for those nearly-indestructible marionettes to have rusted and eroded like that it's been at least decades if not centuries. MageVik had to transform from Herald form anyway, so I always figured that now he looks like how he feels... old.

The fact that he still chose to have some of that show up not only in his Herald form but also in his ASTRAL Herald form is so interesting too. He says he wants to purge everyone and himself of "imperfections" but he kept those just as he kept Jayce's blanket. Things that "weakened" him!

FR! My fav thing about their designs is how they both subvert their archetypes. Viktor has thicker brows, nose, and fingers than your typical skinny guy and he's taller than he seems. Jayce's facial proportions are oddly boyish for his frame, and his fingers are long and elegant. It's so on purpose!
