Everyone likes for their child to be a reader right up until that reading turns into perspective, worldview, and opinions. That is the sieve that separates out the parents invested in their children's development from the parents who just see them as a trophy or ornament.

So, my fictional writing is an outcropping of years of online text roleplay. As I transition to writing short stories, I am noticing an emergent weakness. The character I most identify with in the story is coming off excellently written. Whereas the other characters are written far more weakly. 1/2

I don't think I could have ever worked as a chef, despite my love of cooking. Cause like.. if I am working in a kitchen and someone else is within 5 feet of me, even if they are not physically in my way right then, I am just filled with white hot rage at how hypothetically in my way they could be.

Give yourself a break. So you were a weird kid. What does it matter? Kids spend most of their time trying to fit in, while adults spend most of their time trying to stand out. You are a weird, creative, interesting adult. This is the payoff. Relax. You won in the end.
