Decided to procrastinate on my game to develop a tool for determining if the Aurora is both overhead and visible. Right now, I have a 30 minute NOAA Aurora forecast visualization implemented, next up is bringing in the weather for determining visibility.

I'm honestly surprised that subprotocol wasn't used by IoT coffee and tea devices.

More off the shelf liquids should have expiration dates since most things start to break down after a few years.

I finally got the networking for multiplayer into a state that I'm happy with for my game. Now I have to actually integrate it. Downside of using my own game engine is that this will require rewriting a lot of the core logic. On the bright side, my game doesn't have that many features yet.

Well, had another unexpected tangent... I reverse engineered Bambu Labs Cloud API so I can keep printers out of local mode while having full API access for MQTT data/commands, file uploads, video streaming, etc.

couldn't you hypothetically do really really nice document scanning with any old phone camera by incrementally adding detail from multiple photos over time? they do this in astronomy.

Got a nice shot of the silicon wafer. I'm waiting on some parts to arrive before I can throw it under Forge in order to take a closer look at the individual circuits on it.

I got some premium protogen food. On a related note, silicon wafers are surprisingly cheap.

I got invited to give a guest lecture at my local university's machine vision class about my tree core scanning project and how it uses machine vision. This will be my first time being invited to give a talk someplace.

I got a new webcam camera. I will now use it for everything but a webcam, so enjoy this neat picture I took using it.

Multi sample imaging is now fully integrated into Forge's GUI! This makes it the cheapest and highest resolution multi tree core scanner out there!

Finally got fully automatic tree core sample imaging working on Forge!

The workflow is now place lens cap on, detect hot pixels, remove lens cap, place samples, enter their names and hit start. I think this makes it one of if not the easiest tree core scanner to use out there.

Went over to someone else's house and saw the newest version of Bambuslicer today after using an old version of Orca slicer for a while. The preparation screen feels cluttered, like it's trying to do too many things at a time.
