I think a lot of piracy discourse is just sort of displaced frustration that it isnt really financially feasible to *just* be an author/artist for most people

frustrating that this piracy discourse is the same goddamn thing every time, has been for years, while discussion of exploitation of writers by publishers tends to remain very faint. it feels like this is a frequent steam valve for frustration, a group that can be yelled at without risking jobs.

my recommendation is that you write a book that you care about enough that you consider people pirating it to be a moral good
