Other than fuel duty being frozen & Hybrid/EV tax increases, this seems like a budget one might hope for from a Labour government? Increase in min wage, scrapping two-child cap, freezing prescription cost, a small increase in taxes for wealthy… or am I missing something??

David Haig always explains very complex ideas so simply. He also has a wonderful overview of biology - different reproductive strategies in plants and animals, and curious aspects of physiology or behaviour
I am procrastinating on writing by reading this interview of one of the true pioneers in evolutionary biology (and one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life)

Why we should be thinking of Welwitschia. What is Welwitschia you might ask (I did!)? Read on.

Day 2 - Great to hear about a variety of imprinting research, covering #epigenetic regulation, #metabolism, #placenta function and #brain and #behaviour. A full day finished off with a lovely dinner in the botanic gardens 🤩
Fantastic first day at the First Genomic Imprinting Valencian Meeting! Great to catch up with colleagues, but really nice to hear about research from newer imprinters such as Julie Demars, Ariella Weinberg-Shukron and Daniel Andergassen

I am agnostic about whether there is a link between #microbiome and #brain, but this commentary raises some important issues about the reproducibility and reliability of the studies thus far…
The link between the gut #microbiome and autism is not backed by science, researchers say.
