When the federal government shutdown disrupted SNAP payments and left thousands unsure how they’d afford food, @massgovernor.bsky.social stepped in. She directed Massachusetts to issue full November SNAP benefits to all 650,000 households, ensuring families didn’t go without during the uncertainty.

🚨 As of today, we're not aware of any official plan to require households to reapply for SNAP. Any change to the application process would require Congress to amend existing law. Most households need to submit information every 6 months to maintain their benefits, but this is NOT a reapplication.

When the government shutdown caused confusion and fear around November SNAP benefits, thousands of Massachusetts residents didn’t know where to turn. But because of you, Project Bread was able to help.

Huge thanks to @projectbread.org for stepping up to help families impacted by President Trump's SNAP benefits freeze.

Our team worked quickly to get benefits back on EBT cards — so if you’ve got funds, go get those groceries.

And if you still need help, ask. You are not alone.

1+ million MA residents are getting SNAP benefits. “It’s unfortunate the court battle continues, but I am grateful that in Massachusetts, people are not going to have to wait on the court’s decision to put food on the table,” said Erin McAleer, our President & CEO. www.wgbh.org/news/local/2...
