@adrianramsay.bsky.social explains how Labour's budget fails to address unprecedented cost of living pressures- and how a wealth tax would raise revenues to fund our infrastructure and public services.

A note about Govt budget 2025.
The increase to minimum wage is welcome but costs nothing.
Many elderly rely on their life savings to live. The tax on savings was increased leaving the elderly with less to live on. Disabled vehicals are also going to be taxed. Usual cruel & twisted choices.

They're beyond stupid. Beggars belief they would go down this road again. My flagship hospital (PRU Bromley) is drowning in PFI debt. They don't even provide a walk in phlebotomy service anymore, to save money. Instead, we book on line at places like GP surgeries, and wait weeks. Not good.

They will still be annihilated, whether it's Starmer, Streeting, or far right Mahmood, as the same failed, authoritarian, trans-bashing, disabled-bashing, nazi (jewellery-snatching) etc policies will be followed.

Reeves Budget is much as I anticipated. I will be worse off, the banks will be better off with another £20 Billion giveaway of our money to Banks. She is increasing tax on savings which I live on, & taxing foreign traders like Temu. But the 2 child cap is lifted and a mansion tax will be introduced.

Reeves budget in a few hours. It is not widely known that she is giving away £20 billion to the banks each year. The EU ceased banks support years ago. Why won't Reeves? I'm over 60 retired and living off my savings. I expect my living standard will carry on dropping and bank oligarchs will rise.

UK govt can save over £20bn a year by ending payment of interest on commercial banks’ central bank reserves.

Subsidy implemented after the 2007-08 crash. Banks are very profitable.

Since 2023, the EU stopped paying interest on central bank reserves.

UK can find better uses of £20bn+.
This is how Rachel Reeves could deliver a progressive budget
The chancellor has an opportunity to boost the public purpose and deliver redistribution

If neoliberalism does not stop the planet is finished.
If neoliberalism doesn't stop the general public will be as poor as Imperial Russians before ww1.
If neoliberalism doesn't stop the welfare and health services will cease to exist.
Either vote for hope or dispair.

It is not OK to set men against women, indigenous against immigrants, straight against gay, cis against trans, working against the unemployed, the able against the disabled, well against sick, wealthy against poor, young against old, or South against North. It destroys lives. It is what Reform do.

Starmer will cling on after dropping the two child cap. The public will still ditch Labour with their welfare cuts and freezing tax thresholds again and again. Not to mention bashing the elderly, disabled and all minorities. They are a pale imitation of Reform & still would be even after a new PM.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.
November 22, 2025 at 11:04 AM
Nathan Gill (Welsh Reform leader) was sentenced for 10 1/2 years in prison for accepting bribes to make favourable statements about Russia in the European Parliament. So what did Farage know about it and why didn't he report Gill to the Police? Reform = Fascist Criminals
November 22, 2025 at 4:56 PM
Why hasn't Farage been arrested for racially aggravated hatred? The PM thinks it serious enough to question him but the police don't think it serious enough to arrest him after 20 people accuse him? This is outrageous we must demand his arrest in the interests of the country and in public safety.

This is not the time for Starmer's Obsesquiousness of Trump. UK must help Ukraine to defend it's borders not hand them on a plate to the enemy and its puppet.
Rewarding a dictator-aggressor always leads to another war. One that is usually even worse.
